CONVERSION COATING YOU CAN SEE®

HAI® distributes and surface treats with CHEMEON eTCP®

CHEMEON eTCP® is on the QPL – list of approved products (Qualified Products List).

eTCP® is worldwide the only MIL-DTL qualified replacement for the hexavalent chromium (CrVI, Cr6+), passivation known by the trade names Alodine or Iridite.

eTCP® is a completely unique product that provides a visual purple color indicator that your parts are surface treated and protected.

The lack of color has been a major barrier to the implementation of trivalent chromium, as a replacement for the old chemical hexavalent chromium. With the ground-breaking product eTCP®, significant problems with quality control and waste of resources are no longer present.

With the development of eTCP® and MIL-DTL qualification, a sustainable and innovative technology has been created for global aerospace, military and OEM customers.

CHEMEON Surface Technology eTCP®, is a safe corrosion protection that has been approved to MIL-DTL-5541F and MIL-DTL-81706B for use as a conversion coating on all aluminum alloys and other light metals.

CHEMEON's MIL-SPEC chemistry is REACH, RoHS, WEEE and SVHC compliant

CHEMEON eTCP Powder (concentrate).

CHEMEON's eTCP Powder is unique from all other MIL-DTL alternatives to hexavalent chromium with its proven performance on 2024 aluminum. pH adjustment is not necessary and eTCP Powder has a visual color indicator so you can see that your parts are treated and protected.

CHEMEON eTCP Touch Up Pen

The CHEMEON eTCP pen gives the surface a distinctive, easily identifiable color to ensure that the coating has been applied. CHEMEON eTCP is a trivalent chemical conversion coating for aluminum alloys, magnesium, IVD aluminum, zinc and zinc alloys, zinc-nickel and cadmium. The Touch UP Pen is for boats for small repairs, complicated repairs and for repairing vehicles at sea, on land and in the air.

CHEMEON eTCP RTU (Ready to Use)

CHEMEON eTCP® RTU conversion coating and anodic seal provides superior corrosion protection and adhesion to light metals such as 2024 aluminum. RTU is premixed, so there is no mixing or determination of formulas; simply open the container and it is ready to apply to aircraft, vehicles and parts. eTCP RTU gives a violet tint to bare metal.

One look and you know your parts are protected

CHEMEON eTCP represents the evolution of trivalent chromium pretreatments by replacing the familiar hexavalent chromium and its identifiable yellow/golden hue with the violet to blue hues of CHEMEON eTCP®.
CHEMEON eTCP technology is a safe trivalent chromium conversion coating and anodic seal that meets the needs of global aerospace, military and OEM customers.
The industry needs a MIL-DTL approved trivalent chromium conversion coating that delivers robust performance on 2024 aluminum and provides a visual color indicator on coated parts because both the US government and the European Union have banned chromium 6.

The Enhanced Trivalent Chrome Process (eTCP®), an invention of CHEMEON®, is an extraordinary technological advance that is revolutionizing surface treatment processes. eTCP Powder, Ready To Use (RTU) and Touch-Up Pen are QPL (Qualified Product List) approved to MIL-DTL 81706B, MIL-DTL 5541F, TT-C-490 Type VI for immersion, spray, brush, wipe and touch -up pen. eTCP® is a highly effective and environmentally friendly solution used at room temperature to prepare metal surfaces for various applications, providing exceptional corrosion resistance, adhesion and improving material durability.

At its core, patented eTCP® uses environmentally safe trivalent chromium compounds and a color of violet to indicate that parts are fully coated and protected.
The visual color indicator distinguishes eTCP® from all other MIL-DTL trivalent compounds and the traditional yellow-gold hue associated with hexavalent chromium. Hex Chrome has faced increased scrutiny in the United States and abroad due to its established health risks. Many industries and regulatory bodies have implemented stricter regulations and guidelines to reduce or eliminate the use of hexavalent chromium and encourage the use of safer alternatives such as eTCP®.

Why etcp® is a superior conversion coating

eTCP® not only delivers superior performance on 2024 aluminum and other light metals, but also provides a visual color indicator that is of tremendous value for part quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA). The switch to eTCP® also addresses critical environmental and health concerns associated with older hexavalent chromium-based chemistries known as sodium dichromate, potassium dichromate, chromic acid, dilute chromium, CrVI and marketed under brand names that have included Alodine and Iridite.

One of the most compelling aspects of CHEMEON eTCP® lies in its ability to form a protective coating on metal surfaces through a chemical conversion process. This coating acts as a shield against corrosion, provides superior adhesion to traditional paint and ARC paint, significantly extending the life of metal components and structures in harsh environments such as marine or industrial environments. By preventing oxidation and degradation, eTCP® ensures the long-term integrity and reliability of materials, reduces maintenance costs and improves operational efficiency.

In addition to its outstanding performance and environmental benefits, eTCP® also offers ease of use and compatibility with legacy and existing manufacturing processes. This adaptability allows for seamless integration into different production lines, ensuring a smooth transition and cost-effective implementation.
Furthermore, eTCP’s environmentally friendly nature is a major highlight. By eliminating the use of the familiar hexavalent chromium, eTCP® minimizes the risk of environmental contamination and protects the health of workers involved in the surface treatment process. This innovation is in line with sustainability goals, making eTCP® an ideal choice for industries committed to reducing their ecological footprint.
Overall, the enhanced Trivalent Chrome Process (eTCP®) represents a game-changing invention from CHEMEON® that combines cutting-edge technology, environmental responsibility and uncompromising performance. With its ability to provide exceptional corrosion resistance, improve material durability and promote sustainability, eTCP® sets a new standard in surface treatment, making it an invaluable asset to industries worldwide.
